OFF PISTE
A DIVERSION FROM THE ROUTE
Ass it turns out, the diveriosn off to the Limekilns is well worh it. These are a hefty underlining of an industrial function with a significant physical appearance.
Sadly, the Fife Coastal Path does not run past the Kilns themselves:a spur from the railway line used to serve the kilns directly and the line (and further to the west the Lyn) separates the West Harbour from the Crombie munitions depot. There is a decent network of local signposted walks which may lead down to the limekilns from Charleston.
